Dear friends of Farming 4 Life,
The Christmas season is a time to reflect on the year that has passed and all that we have achieved together. We are filled with gratitude for the support and commitment you have shown in 2024, and we would like to share some heartwarming updates from our wonderful partners in Uganda and Togo. Your contributions have made a difference in the lives of many people – young and old. Here are glimpses of the amazing things that have happened.
Christmas Update from Farming 4 Life Uganda and Global Children Uganda – 2024
Dear friends,
This Christmas season, we look back on a fantastic year filled with hope, change, and new opportunities. With support from you, Farming 4 Life, Åben Kirke, Acts Mission, and CKU, we have made a difference for many vulnerable children and young people in Uganda, and we are filled with gratitude for what has been achieved.
Graduation for Youth – A New Future
Our project in Lira has trained over 300 young people in tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing, and agriculture. This year, we celebrated the graduation of 50 young people, who received starter kits to launch their own businesses. Many of them, especially young mothers, see this as a new chance to create a better life for themselves and their families.
Colorful Sports Day for Children with Disabilities
This year, we organized a sports gala for 150 children and young people with disabilities. The day was filled with music, games, and dancing, but also with practical support. Several received health check-ups, counseling, and animals like goats and chickens to help them start small income-generating activities.
Barbara's Story – A New Beginning
17-year-old Barbara, who has cerebral palsy, has long depended on her father and struggled to move around. This year, she was one of the recipients of a specially designed wheelchair through our disability inclusion program. This gift has given Barbara greater freedom and eased her father's daily life. We hope this will bring new joy and hope to their family.
Sustainable Farming – A Path Forward
Through the method "Farming God’s Way," young people are learning to cultivate the land in a way that yields higher output and protects the environment. For those with physical limitations, we have distributed animals such as pigs and goats to help them generate independent income.
Thank You for the Year Gone By
We thank God for all the opportunities we have had in 2024, and we thank you for your faithful support. With your help, we continue to bring hope, joy, and transformation to vulnerable children and young people.
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
With warm regards,
Farming 4 Life Uganda and Global Children Uganda
Christmas Update from Farming 4 Life Togo – 2024
Dear friends,
As we look back on the year that has passed, we are filled with gratitude for God’s faithfulness and the countless testimonies of how the mission’s work has helped transform lives and communities.
Testimony of Transformation in Alati
In the small village of Alati in the Haho district, there used to be just a small church with few resources. But through training and the establishment of savings groups and savings clubs, the church has not only grown stronger – its members are now thriving both economically and spiritually. This growth has changed the church’s image in the area and made it a beacon of hope and development.
Training in Microfinance and Agriculture in Partnership with Farming 4 Life
This year, in partnership with Farming 4 Life, we have focused on training churches in microfinance, agriculture, and entrepreneurship. Through this collaboration, many have gained knowledge on how to start businesses and how small loan schemes can create financial independence. The agriculture-focused training has helped local communities optimize their harvests and improve living conditions. These tools have inspired both churches and members to take responsibility and help their neighbors, strengthening communities and promoting development.
Danish Visit and Youth Celebration
In February, we had the joy of welcoming Bent and a team from Denmark, who visited Togo from February 4th to 11th, 2024. They represented the project "Sports for Life" (S4L), which focuses on empowering youth in the Apostolic Church of Togo. During their visit, they met with church leaders and the Youth Department, and together we organized a large youth celebration, where young people from our various regions participated. The Danish delegation attended this festive event, which was a fantastic experience for everyone.
The Heart of the Mission: Compassion, Partnership, and Sustainable Change
The core of the mission is compassion – allowing ourselves to be touched by the circumstances of others and acting on it. This year, our partnership with Farming 4 Life has provided us with new tools to build structures that promote independence and strengthened our ability to reach out to the most vulnerable in our communities. By working together in partnership, we can unite spiritual and practical development and bring hope and change to even more people.
Thank You for the Year Gone By
We thank God for the opportunities we’ve had in 2024, and we thank you for standing with us in prayer, support, and action. This year, we’ve seen how a clear vision and strong collaborations can bring change – not only in the church but also in the surrounding communities. Let’s continue this mission in 2025 and share hope and love where there is need.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year! With loving greetings,
Farming 4 Life Togo and Apostolic Church in Togo
